Sadly, the Florham Park Police Department is announcing the passing of our own retired Lieutenant Bob Kelly, age 74. Bob started his career with us on July 1, 1974, and retired 26 years later in the fall of 2000 as Badge #513. Bob was instrumental in the creation and evolution of our Support Services Unit.

Following his retirement, Bob was fortunate to do what many say they want to do, but usually don't. He traveled the country in his RV and saw some amazing things along the way, right up to his passing while adventuring in Kentucky. Bob maintained an online blog of his adventures for over a decade, and with our own annual events coming up in town, we think it's fitting to share one of his blogs from the Fourth of July, 2024, where he touches on his career here while strolling down memory lane a bit - https://www.kellyontheroad.com/fourth-of-july/

Bob was a continued friend to many in retirement, meeting with other retirees for lunches or just catching up, and generally staying in contact with his friends. Bob will be missed by many. Our condolences go out to his family.

Services are planned for this Friday and Saturday and are listed in the comments.

Yesterday, Delegate Charlie Greenstein had the honor to award two Florham Park graduating seniors with the Florham Park PBA Civic Association Scholarship. Congratulations to Andrea DiSessa and Caden Thomas! Both of you continue to show leadership, respect and civic duty in all that you do. Stay the course and we have no doubt you will both succeed in whenever you set your minds to!

Included is a “blast from the past” photo of a Florham Park Fourth of July DARE float with this current graduating class of Hanover Park seniors. Many of our PBA members have had the distinct privilege to see our community’s kids grow from little kids into young adults entering the world.

We wish all the best and a big congratulations to the Hanover Park class of 2026
