Hannah Skipper passed away on September 8th, 2018 in a tragic accident at the young age of seventeen and we plan to keep her spirit alive! Hannah had a spirit like no other! She could LIGHT up any room that she walked into with that smile and infectious laugh. She had this amazing ability to lift others up and bring out the best in them.
During the days after her passing, we were blown away with all of the stories that we heard from her peers as well as students and teachers that simply passed her in the hall. The stories were ALL about how she helped them in some way whether it was a big smile in the hallway, an encouraging conversation or a meaningful friendship.
Hannah had a love for the game of softball. This would have been her senior year and her 6th year playing for the West Florence Knights. We will be raising funds to have a memorial in her honor at the West Florence Softball field. We will share more details very soon as there are some things in the works! We will have a memorial game in her honor on February 23rd, 2019 that will also be a fundraiser. We will need volunteers for this as well.
Off the field, Hannah had a passion for helping others! She would give a homeless person her last dollar and do anything to help animals. Hannah also had a very special place in her heart for people with special needs. In fact, she worked with kids with special needs several years while at West Florence High School. She also loved giving back at Christmas. She was very invloved in adopting and delivering gifts to families in need. She had a servant’s heart for sure and the Lord blessed others through her countless times.
