Early voting for the primaries begins today across South Carolina, and we are encouraging every eligible voter to make a plan to participate.

Find your nearest early voting location at scVOTES.gov and make your plan to vote.

The decisions being made right now are not distant or abstract; they directly impact the communities we serve, the resources available to our families, and the opportunities our young people will inherit. From education and healthcare to economic development and public safety, these choices shape both our present reality and our future.

For the young ladies and families we pour into every day, this matters. Their lives, their access, their outcomes, and their ability to thrive are all connected to the leadership and policies put in place.

Your voice carries weight. Your vote is a tool for impact. Take the time to show up, be informed, and be counted.

Please join us in celebrating SHE Is Me Alum Brianna Hunt ‘22 on an incredible milestone, her graduation from Claflin University 🧡

Brianna graduated Magna Cum Laude, finishing her final semester with a 4.0 GPA and closing out her undergraduate journey with a 3.8 cumulative GPA.

From the very beginning, Brianna’s journey with SHE Is Me stood out.

During her first year in the program, her mom made the consistent drive from Conway to Lake View, Marion, Dillon, or wherever we were meeting at the time, to ensure Brianna had access to every opportunity available. That level of commitment and sacrifice spoke volumes. It set the tone early for the standard Brianna would continue to uphold, and it remains one of the most admirable displays of dedication we’ve witnessed.

Brianna also holds a special place in our history as the first major renewable SHE Is Me scholarship recipient, a reflection of the excellence, leadership, and promise she demonstrated even then.

After a full year of in-person connection and growth, her second year, like many of our students, was met with an unexpected shift as the COVID-19 pandemic moved our program fully virtual through her graduation. But even in that, Brianna never disengaged.

She stayed connected, consistent, and committed.

Throughout her college journey, Brianna made it a point to keep us informed, sharing updates on her internships, her research, and the work she was doing to continue building her future. She has also come back to visit for several of our events and when a few of our students had the opportunity to visit Claflin University, she took time to speak with them, sharing her experience, her transition, and why she was not just attending an HBCU, but truly thriving within it.

In her reflections, both Brianna and her mom shared their gratitude for the continued support of Ms. Tab and SHE Is Me throughout her journey. And truthfully, moments like this remind us that the investment, the time, and the love poured into this work extends far beyond the years spent in the program.

Bri, we are beyond proud of you. Not just for what you’ve accomplished, but for how you’ve carried yourself every step of the way, very above average!

This milestone is well deserved, and everything ahead of you is already aligned with the standard you’ve set.

Keep going. Keep leading. Keep being exactly who you are 💫

Please join us in celebrating SHE Is Me Alum Asia Hardison ‘22 on a major milestone, her graduation from North Carolina A&T State University 💙💛

On May 9th, Asia earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management, closing out her undergraduate journey with focus, excellence, and intention. During her senior year, she completed undergraduate research on North Carolina’s CMHRP program, earning her research cord, a reflection of both her academic discipline and her commitment to meaningful work.

Asia’s journey with SHE Is Me holds a unique place in our story.

She was just getting started, settling into the program, building connections, and stepping into her rhythm and then, after only about her second meeting, the world shifted. The COVID-19 pandemic changed everything, and like so many others, our program moved fully virtual for the remainder of her high school experience.

But even in that shift, something powerful happened.

There was beauty in the way connections were still formed. In the way sisterhood still showed up through screens. In the creativity of service projects that continued to pour into others, even when everything felt uncertain. Asia didn’t disconnect, she leaned in. She showed up, she adapted, and she remained committed to her growth and to this community in a way that speaks volumes.

From leading her own service project with care and excellence, to balancing competitive cheer, work, and an internship at McLeod Health, Asia consistently demonstrated what it means to move with intention.

And that didn’t stop after high school graduation.

From volunteering with the program during her college breaks, to serving as a summer trip leader, Asia has remained connected, giving back to one of the spaces that once poured into her. All while being active on campus and in the Greensboro community, above average!

What makes this moment even more meaningful is the full circle. Asia and her mom both shared their gratitude for the continued support, guidance, and presence of Ms. Tab and SHE Is Me throughout her journey. That kind of impact, the kind that extends beyond meetings and moments, is what this work is truly about.

Asia, we are incredibly proud of you. You’ve done the work, you’ve honored your journey, and you have built something that will continue to carry you forward.

This is not the finish line, this is just the beginning. Keep going. Keep growing. Keep setting the standard 💫
