Yesterday, Leadership Shoals participants explored the rich heritage and economic impact of our region during History & Tourism Day.
The class began with a walking tour of Downtown Tuscumbia led by Buddy Whitlock, followed by an engaging session with Laura Aldridge on the History of Sheffield. Participants then visited Visit The Shoals to learn about the tourism industry’s role in driving local economic growth led by Rob Carnegie, toured Frank Lloyd Wright’s Rosenbaum House, tour of Florence City Cemetery with Harry Wallace, and wrapped up the day with a tour of Muscle Shoals Sound Studio.
It was a full day highlighting the people, places, and history that make the Shoals such a special place to work, live, and visit.
Thank you to all who hosted our group and shared your knowledge and passion for the Shoals with us!
Thank you to our program sponsors - Helen Keller Hospital, Bank Independent, Member FDIC, Grayson Carter & Son Contracting, Inc., and University of North Alabama - for helping make this program possible!
