What is about TransUnion that makes me uncomfortable. Is their staff strewn across sevral continents? Is it the data I receive over the telephone which turns out to be erroneous? Is it that they always seem to have system trouble when I am trying to logon or get a new password. Thinking out loud but now not just thinking. 😟😟😟

Well, we are winding down the promotion of Mel Nelsons Legacy Album but not music in general. Here as well as on his Legacy page is a concert performance of stupendous dimensions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lcQaTl0YTc&feature=emb_rel_pause
Recently and when Mel was with us I chanced to comment on why there were so few 'long drum solos' extant. And I stated simply to him that it takes an immense amount of skill to deliver what used to be (70's mainly) a truly well executed drum solo. You be the judge. And for good measure a performance from the same concert displaying the miraculous skill of a three man rock band that to me towers over all the rock and blues bands of the 20th Century. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7_XkndCwQc
Please, if you truly like these performances give them and this page a thumbs up.. Chaz

Because of the unusual response to our recent updates and I will elaborate on that later, we would like to announce that we (The Guild of Musicians) are extending the CD/Download of Mel Nelson's music a little longer than Valentine's Day. It is currently one British Pound minus a few cents, but will revert very soon to its original $9.95. And rightly so since it is packed with his great tunes and three extra senroy pleasing songs.

One of the keen responses to our Facebook updates is: "Looks like Mel produced and wrote for De la Soul, Sugarhill Gang and produced “Stop in the Name of Love” back in the day! We used to sing that to our boys when they were babies...and now when we want to tease them!

Uber talented family Marilyn!! Thanks for the intro to his music!!"

So, Yes music lovers and music listeners we are promoting the sale of this legacy album and it will go on past Valentine's Day because Mel Nelson had something to say musically that I believe as curator of his music is worth sharing for others enjoyment.

Again, (especially in the cold months) may you find or keep the love you have.

Steven F. Adams of SOUNDWAVEONE gave a resoundingly positive review of MEBINESSIN:

"Once I got my listening time in for the album called 'Mebinessin' by the recording artist Mel Nelson I found it to be quite good. As I listened Mel has that sound of almost Bebop with a twist. Throughout 'Mebinessin' I heard a lot of real jazz twists and turns which brought real jazz flavor to his style. This album pays tribute to the late Mel Nelson and has that continual smooth sounds of jazz that comes to life as the album progresses. This album pays respect to the sounds that are brought to light through various artists that contribute their warm talents on this remarkable work.

Jazz music is not one of my strongest areas of knowledge, however, this album projects a sound [experiece] that I recognize as good solid solo performances. I think this album project does good justice to Mel Nelson and shows the act of gratitude towards that sound that I heard through the entire album.

The vocals of all involved in this project really enhance the flavor including the songs, "Beautiful Sun" and "Loads of Hope"--and it brings a fresh approach to jazz and has a feel of smoothness all the way through. One of the songs "Lazy Life Day" has a wonderful piano ballad that is very soulful and I felt as if I were sitting in a jazz club in the wee hours and soaking in the sounds of the band playing in the background. Don't misunderstand me when I say playing in the background, this sound brings and takes you to a place where your heart is and mine felt right with the music.

This album shows the softer side and I really got into the sound. This what I call night music and it is the style that in my opinion should be listened to at night where one can easily be in tune with their emotions and feelings.

As I listened to the rest of this album it really displayed the groove-on in the right direction and added that consistent Jazz rhythm and has that jazzy beat throughout.

I would like to take time to for Chaz Van Heyden for allowing me to be exposed to this style of jazz fusion based on wonderful music and his tribute to Mel Nelson, and I look forward to hearing more from in the future. Steven F. Adams Owner/Writer SoundWaveOne

There was one artist on the Mel Nelson Tribute Album MEBINESSIN we didn't know--but last month she ran across our website (somehow) and made herself known to the association. She is Anne Montone who sang the beautiful 'I Love You I Do' ...which anyone can hear on our website, it's your website now too, don't forget. www.musiciansinactionguild.org
