Sometimes leadership is quiet.
It’s carrying responsibility that most people never see.
It’s making hard decisions, showing up when you’re tired, and continuing to hold space for others—even when your own tank feels low.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on Psalm 21, and how deeply it speaks to this season.
It reminds me that the strength required to do this work isn’t something we have to create on our own.
“The king rejoices in Your strength, Lord…”
At Barnabas, we see this every day.
In the quiet moments between horse and human.
In the breakthroughs that can’t be forced.
In the way healing unfolds when the space is safe enough.
There is a strength present here that goes beyond us.
“You have granted him the desire of his heart…”
This work—providing free, trauma-informed equine-assisted services for survivors of crime, veterans, and first responders—started as a calling. And even in the challenges, there is constant evidence that it is being sustained in ways we could never orchestrate on our own.
“Surely You have granted unending blessings…”
Not because everything is easy—but because even in the hard seasons, there is provision. The right people show up. The resources come. The horses continue to do what only they can do.
And maybe the reminder I needed most:
“Through the unfailing love of the Most High, he will not be shaken.”
There are moments that feel overwhelming. There are days that stretch us. But this work—and the people behind it—are held by something steady, and that makes all the difference.
If Barnabas has impacted you in any way, thank you for being part of this community. Your support, your presence, and your belief in this work help make healing possible every single day♥️🐴♥️
