šŸ… 8 tomatoes down, 12 to go!

We're working toward our goal of welcoming 20 new monthly donors by June 30, and we've already filled in 8 tomatoes on the vine thanks to generous community members.

Monthly donors help sustain local food access, support local farmers, and strengthen our community food system all year long.

Can you help us fill in the next tomato? šŸ…

Our 2026 Seedling Distributions are complete! 14 markets, 400 flats of seedlings, dozens of volunteers, hundreds of bags of manure and soil and mulch, multiple car loads and last minute trips to the hardware store, new gardens established and old ones weeded and planted for the season: all in the name of food access.

Thousands of plants will flourish across community gardens at 14 different public housing sites this growing season. We feel so lucky to do this work alongside folks who share the same dream of building a just and resilient local food system for all!

Within a food system designed to marginalize those most affected by systemic injustice, growing your own food becomes both a radical act and a fundamental human right.

Thank you to all who made this event possible! Our hearts are so fullā£ļø

At Grow Food Northampton, we believe food sovereignty starts in the garden 🌱

10 new raised garden beds were built and three new plots were rototilled at our senior public housing sites on Monday! Special shoutout to these lovely residents who brought us donuts and coffee, and to our volunteers who we truly couldn’t do any of this withoutā£ļø

Meet Margot Wise, our new Land Stewardship Managerā£

We're so grateful to have Margot onboard and learn from her sustainable agriculture and food systems knowledge and experience. After several seasons as a farmer and horticulturist, she went on to serve as Farm Manager at Nuestras Raices, Production Manager at Valley Malt, and founding Co-Director of the Holyoke Food and Equity Collective.

Originally from the Berkshires, Margot has called Holyoke home for the past decade and is deeply involved in her community. She's a certified Community Scale Compost Operator and our compost queen! Be sure to say hey to Margot next time you see her on the farm.
