Advocacy Alert: Help Protect Afterschool & Summer Programs

🚨Your help is needed to push back on the newly released FY2027 “skinny budget” proposal that would put afterschool and summer programs at risk in South Carolina and nationwide.

📢The budget would eliminate dedicated funding for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) initiative. Right now, 21st CCLC supports nearly 10,000 programs serving 1.4 million children and families—including thousands of South Carolina students who rely on these programs for academic support, enrichment, and safe, supervised care.

Save the Children Federation, Inc. in partnership with Union School District is applying for a 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) sub-grant from South Carolina Department of Education. If funded, this proposal will provide an academic and enrichment afterschool program for students at Buffalo and Monarch Elementary Schools.
