To offer young prospective college students a channel to CONNECT with colleges in the united states through TRACK and FIELD and Cross-Country scholarships.

So when I was in form 4 that’s 12th grade Boarding school I open school one day late because I didn’t have shopping and fees money. So the following day I was send back home to come with a parent because they want to confirm if I was delayed because of shopping and fees or if I pass you know now those who know knows 🤣🤣 teenagers .So I got my small backpack and started working towards bus stop AKA matatu stop. It was like 3 Kilometers on an old dirty road . I had to pass an old shopping center to get there. As I was turning a corner I saw my neighbor who was a doctor employed at nearby health center. I did not want to go home because the 100 shillings I had was for my pocket money and I was 100% sure It was non refundable i know my parents 😂. Once I use I will not have pocket money for 3 months. I approached my neighbor and ofcourse I had to introduce myself to him and why I was send home. This guy was really a nice person but he was already drunk because he was not going to work that day. I ask him if he can take me back to school and introduce himself as my uncle. This is when kids belong to the village. I didn’t know this guy was an actor too lol.He agreed. As we walk back he started complaining on how they are sending her niece back and he is treating their students every day. You know the principal then at that school was a nun. He even threatened to remove nuns Veil. He was kicking everything he found on the dirt road. It was at this moment I started panicking I should have just gone home. The way I was sweating only God knows. When we got to school …..

Growing up in the village nobody will tell you how we can achieve our goal.You will have to fight your way through thick and thin to achieve those goals.Running around 7 km to school with no shoes was a challenge. Especially those days when there was frost, you will get to school when your feet are frozen then by mistake you are late , thats another day story.Nobody told me once i start I will not be able to stop.Those who say sky is the limit I am a bit skeptical .They should have said something like aim above the sky.Why do we have to stop when we reach the sky?If we stop there why did we start then. When flying you go above those clouds, the clouds doesn't stop the plane .Those who believe in God heaven is beyond the sky.So why i we told the sky is the limit?For me there is no limit when it comes to learning. You know you might have a PhD but a ten year old will teach you something new. Remember those songs we use to sing.A ten year old will prove you wrong.Like this song for example when I sing and when a10 year old sings:Me singing"Mr Marcoroni riding in his bicycle if you want marry me Mr marcoroni.Bum bum cece me ya×3 mr marcoroni".Here is how the song is sang; 10 year old singing: "Mr Marc Anthony riding in his bicycle would you like carry me Mr Marc Anthony.Jump up cecelia×3. Mr Marc Anthony."See there in no end in Learning I have been singing all wrong for over 30 years God have mercy on our souls🤣.You know what I have learned during this years stop doing what people want you to do, take your time to grow.Use your own pace you will get there.You can choose to use someone pace thats fine and quit in the middle or finish last or choose your own pace and finish the race. When i arrived to this country through scholarship i was in great shape i mean in good running shape or thats what i thought🤔 .You know nobody taught me how to race.My friend i took the pace by 7th lab i felt like throwing up my stomach was doing some kind of summersult, I thought of going to bathroom but one lab was remaining or quiting no that was not an option.What I have learn about America quiting is forbiden you better became last than quiting. Coaches will congratulate and encourage you for finishing last than when you quit.Fortunately i was going for the last lap, by the time I finished the race I was crawling guess toward where😄 Ask runners and they will tell you their.What I am trying to say is so long as you have that faith to move keep moving , Don't worry about what people will say, what will they do about anyway? Meanwhile keep singing Mr.Marcoroni (search in YouTube)because I don't know what i have been smoking all those years 🤣🤣🤣.
