EC LEARN’s CDA Preparation Program is made up of 40 sessions taking place on a weekday evening beginning at 6pm. After working in the field all day, attending sessions is a commitment! EC LEARN wants to congratulate Heaven Hall from Cohort 11 who maintained perfect attendance for both semesters. Heaven, your 100% attendance rate reflects a high level of discipline and dedication. Mary Kay Connolly has been named EC LEARN’s 2026 Early Childhood Partner Champion, and we’re grateful for her leadership, partnership and the positive impact she’s making on families and children. As Manager of Read Ready Covington, she’s united a coalition focused on boosting the number of children who are “read ready” for kindergarten and ensuring more students read proficiently by the end of third grade. Mary Kay knows this work takes a team, and she consistently brings together families, educators, businesses, social and health services, civic groups, and nonprofits to find solutions together. Through Mary Kay's leadership of the coalition children are nurtured from the very beginning with a language-rich environment, opportunities to play, learn, and grow-up with the knowledge and skills needed before starting formal education.

KY Early and Education professionals, join us for our first Early Educators Materials Exchange on June 11th at the Grant Co. Public Library from 6 – 8pm. We will begin with a 1-hour, in-person training on Quality Through Play: Materials and Curriculum at 6pm, followed by a Materials Swap. Bring gently used materials and exchange them for new-to-you learning materials, infant/toddler toys, gross motor items and storage bins. All materials must be clean and complete. Margaret has built a program known for its warm environment and commitment to quality. As a 4-STAR provider, Kiddie Castle is a place where children are safe, supported, and truly known. Margaret has earned a reputation as someone families can rely on. She builds strong partnerships not only with the parents she serves, but also with local schools and community organizations. Families know when challenges arise, Margaret will help connect them to support and solutions through connections to community resources. Just as importantly, Margaret is helping shape the future of family child care by mentoring her daughter Jazzmyn and passing along her passion for high-quality care and strong family partnerships. Jessica graduated last Thursday from Gateway with her Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and was also recognized as the Graduate of the Year for the Early Childhood Education Program! 👏

We are so proud of her hard work, dedication, and passion for early childhood education. Jessica plans to continue her education by pursuing her bachelor’s degree next!
