Florala Fire

Florala Fire The Florala Fire Department is a fully volunteer fire department located in the city of Florala in Covington County located in South Central Alabama.

We have 29 dedicated members who provide the citizens of Florala and Southeastern Covington County with fire suppression, vehicle extrication, gas spills/leaks, landing zones, roadway obstructions, and other fire or EMS related emergencies. Our fire district is approximately 81 square miles and mainly rural area. We currently run 2 class A engines: Engine 30-1998 Pierce with a 1000 gallon poly tan

k and a 1250 GPM Hale pump and numerous firefighting equipment and Engine 33-2001 Ferrara 1000 gallon poly tank, a 1250 GPM Waterous pump, and numerous firefighting equipment as well as Hurst/Lukas extrication equipment; a brush truck: Brush 34-1999 Chevrolet 3500 four door with a skid unit and wildland firefighting equipment. We have a 2017 Ford Explorer that is our Command Unit that is equipped with medical supplies to assist with ems needs. 2023 Recuse boat equipped with rescue lights and a front rack attached to help with water rescues, we are honored to have it from the help of Firehouse Subs grant. We average 200-300 calls for service per year. Our current ISO (Insurance Services Office) score is a 4/4X. Chief Anthony Jones

Each year at our annual Christmas party, we have the privilege of recognizing our members with service plaques for 5, 10, 15 years, and beyond. This year, we are honored to present 15-year service plaques to Evan Robbins and Reb Bass, and a 30-year service plaque to Marvin Williford. We are truly grateful for their dedication and the many years they have given in service. Although they were unable to attend the Christmas party this year due to prior commitments, the Chief made sure to personally present each of them with their plaque.

Florala Christmas Parade:
Saturday, December 13th @ 6:00pm

*Line up starts at 5:15 at the Florala High School parking lot.

We want everyone, participants and spectators to enjoy this wonderful community tradition safely and comfortably. Moving the parade ensures a great experience for all without worrying about the rain.

*No registration needed just show up at the Florala High School parking lot. Someone will come around and get your float info. However, we do ask if you are able, to donate a toy for our local Angel Tree! You may drop the toys off at the square downtown by the announcer during the parade.

*We will be judging parade floats and will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Mark your calendars, spread the word, and get ready for a festive night full of lights, holiday spirit, and community cheer!

Due to the incoming weather and for everyone’s safety, the Christmas Parade has been postponed to Saturday, December 13th. @ 6pm

We know how much the community looks forward to this night, and we want to make sure participants and spectators can enjoy it without worrying about the rain.
