From Mary Lou:
“When Delanie made me a mom over 29 years ago my life was changed forever. I discovered in that moment how deep a mother’s love was, that fierce instinct to protect her from harm and that sudden feeling of vulnerability that if anything ever happened to her I would be irrevocably broken. It was a scary revelation but I just assumed everything would be ok. Why wouldn’t it? When Raegan came two years later, I knew our family was complete. We were the Fab 4. We were invincible and together anything was possible. We could have so much fun just the four of us and it only got better when Matt became the 5th member of our Fab 4. Life was good. Delanie was living her best life. All her hopes and dreams were coming true and we all felt so blessed. Even that Saturday in Boston four years ago was a happy day, a day of laughter and celebration among friends enjoying life and each other. That’s how I choose to remember 10/8/22. Delanie in Boston, reunited with Roosh and Raegan, her favorite person in the world. Laughter. Happiness. Joy. Love. And then devastation when we got the unfathomable news. My heart broke that day, beyond repair. I can’t believe it’s been four years since that awful day. The hole in my heart is still the size of a crater. I miss her physical presence every day. It seems like yesterday that me, Jim & Delanie were watching the Yankees every night waiting for Aaron Judge to hit those damn home runs and then when he did we were high-fiving as if he was part of our family. Life was full of simple pleasures. We’d talk about the future a lot and sometimes that’s what hurts the most. I miss the memories that will never be. Anyone who has experienced loving her and being loved by her knows that there is nothing better. So today I just want to remember how special she is and how being her mom is one of the greatest blessings I have in my life. Even knowing how sad I am now I would do it all again in a second. Delanie I love you and miss you every day and will live my life hopefully in a way that honors you and makes you proud. Until we meet again, all my love,
Mom”
