Visit Flora, IL - Flora Tourism Come visit Flora in southeastern Illinois where IL routes 50 and 45 meet. We have so much to offer -

The City of Flora formed the Tourism Committee in order to promote Flora and areas of interest throughout Clay County. With this in mind, the Flora Tourism Committee hopes to energize interest in our historical sites, events and specialty attractions that are available. The Tourism Committee is encouraging input from area organizations, restaurants, lodging, specialty stores, and community clubs to let the public know why everyone should “Visit Flora, IL”!

The Flora Tourism Committee would like to thank all of those who participated in and attended Springfest 2026! It was a success!

Regardless of some who want to complain that didn’t even attend, the event went wonderful and we had a great turn out! We did learn that 110 pounds of chicken wings will most likely need to be tripled for next years competition lol.

For the BBQ competition there were 5 categories that was judged and the top 2 winners in each category is listed below.

Thighs
1. Beer Belly BBQ
2. Kinfolk & Coal

Ribs
1. Smoke Show
2. Ace Hardware Flora

Pork Butt
1. Beer Belly

Congratulations to all of the winners!

As always the Flora Tourism Committee meetings are open to the public and posted every month. We not only encourage but want the community to attend these meetings so we can hear your ideas and discuss them. If you would like to be on the Tourism Committee that is also a possibility. We want your feedback, we want your ideas. That said, all you want to do is be a keyboard warrior, please remember what was just wrote. If you want to see events like these get better then participate and help us!

All proceeds from events like these go back into the community for grants, fireworks, future events, and the all around betterment of our community.

Again we thank you all for making year number 2 a great success and we are already working on plans for our next Springfest!
