School Days Blacksmith Competition – Flora, Oregon

Every year during Flora School Days, blacksmiths gather on the grounds of the historic Flora School Education Center to take part in a live forging competition. Working under time pressure and in front of the public, competitors demonstrate traditional blacksmithing skills while forging a piece of their own design.

The Flora School Blacksmith Competition is held the third Saturday of June each year.

Spectators are welcome to come watch blacksmiths at work, learn about traditional metalworking, and enjoy one of the highlights of Flora School Days.

If you are a blacksmith interested in competing, bring your tools, set up your forge, and test your skills in front of a live audience.
