Good morning beautiful community ❤️ So, it looks like people really feel we should keep the market on Fridays at the pie shop ☺️ We agree! Let's make Floodwoods Farmers/Makers Market a real destination stop! Our community has so many talented and wonderfully hard working, creative people to support 🥰 Let's get together on May 23 (and every Friday after) and shop local!

***Update: Now that we're open our pie shop pulls the heaviest traffic through the lot in the morning and last year when we were closed we had the market begin at 2 pm. We're thinking that may need to change since vendors (and potential shoppers) will benefit most by being set up when the greatest number of cars are coming in. Feedback welcome! This is a community project and your voice is important to us 🥰

*** Any vendors that wish to participate let me know! We're looking for things you grow or things you produce with your own hands. A real artisan Destination Market is the goal🤩Let's bring all those talents into the spotlight ❤️

The countdown begins!
Get ready Floodwood, the St Louis County Fair is getting ready for some fun!
Join us August 22nd-24th for a weekend of live music, demonstrations, delicious food and endless fun for your family!
Food booth open 21st-24th. Food truck with mini donuts, cotton candy and more!
August 21st is entry day! Let the community see your work!
August 22nd, come check out Exhibits at 1pm. Witness the new Queen Coronation and play Bingo Friday night!
August 23rd, Bee demonstrations, pottery class (bring home your masterpiece on Sunday!) Garden bus tour!
Petting Zoo, Face Painting ,Glitter Tattoos and games for the kids.
Explore the butterfly tent with added dragon flies this year! Bingo Saturday evening!
August 24th is the Grand Parade at 1pm, enjoy floats and community groups!
Sunday continues with Live music, Balloon artist, Face Painting, Tattoos, Petting zoo and the day ends with Bingo!
Savanna Portage Fur Trade Encampment on going demonstrations all weekend!

When I was a little girl I couldn't sit still. My whole small self was always bursting with curious energy and oftentimes that looked "disruptive" in the eyes of the adults around me. I learned (sometimes successfully and sometimes not 😉) how to hide that big personality inside of "busy work" with my hands. If I couldn't sit still and "behave" I was encouraged to at least be productive.... And somewhere in those years of growing pains grew a love for all things handmade 🥰 If you've ever driven by and seen my silhouette in the shop corner looking still through the windows this is the rest of the picture. This past year of purchasing, gutting, remodeling and licensing has been one of excitement, joy, some sadness, never ending learning, anticipation and a LOT of waiting. This is some of my "busy work" while in that season ☺️ ***All proceeds from the sale of these hats will go towards the Floodwood Ice Skating Rink and upcoming warming house for the community 💓
