🦖🦕Roar & Explore Day Camp 2026 🦖🦕
July 15-17, 2026

Pack 31 - with the invaluable support of many Long Leaf Pine leaders- hosted the first Day Camp since 2009 at Liberty Baptist Church in the Pineview community.

We were blown away with a total of 33 children to participate!
Each den was able to complete 5 adventures including: slingshots, BBs, archery, fishing and a den specific elective.

We'd like to thank the following individuals/groups for your support:

- Thomas & Jamie (setting up our Shooting Sports range)

- Ed ( Slingshot Instructor)

Den Leaders were: Autumn Smith, Rebekah Martin, Sanya Stewart, Hannah Johnson and Priscilla Eby.

Our Nature and Craft areas were facilited by: Katherine Moore and Athena Daly.

Big thanks to our Troop Scouts and parent volunteers for helping with our rotations and activity stations: Rhoan Ray, Lainey Mitchell, Wesley Strawbridge, Chloe McCurdy, Marina McCurdy, Seraphina Daly, Amelia Daly, Kage Powell, Jonathan & Brandy McCurdy and Nadine Altvater.

A big thank you to Mr. Leon Hartely for his expertise and whittling instruction for our Bear den.

If I missed mentioning anyone, my apologies. This was an event months in the making!

Long Leaf Pine District Roundtable is tomorrow!

New research from Scouting America and The Harris Poll provides compelling evidence that the benefits of Scouting extend well beyond youth.

In a survey of more than 3,100 adults, Eagle Scouts reported significantly higher levels of enjoyment, gratitude, purpose, optimism, and overall life satisfaction compared to those who never participated in Scouting. They were also less likely to experience loneliness, sadness, and fear, even after accounting for factors such as age, education, and income.

The study also found that Eagle Scouts are more likely to engage in healthy habits, including spending time outdoors, maintaining routines, setting health goals, and following a balanced lifestyle.

Scouting is not just about earning badges or achieving ranks. It's about developing leadership, resilience, character, and a sense of purpose that can positively influence individuals throughout their lives.

This year's Pack 31 Pinewood Derby was nothing short of a BIG TIME!! Our scouts showed up and showed OUT this year!!

Congratulations to our Pack 31 (overall) winners:
First Place (center): Waylon Hubert
Second Place (left): John David Schrock
Third Place (right): Matthew Schrock

Den winners will move on to the Long Leaf Pine District Derby on Saturday, March 7th in Atmore!!

Thank you to so many in the Flomaton community who helped with the success of our Spaghetti Dinner... We'll do this again!
