🕯️ OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY | AUGUST 31 🕯️

As we approach Overdose Awareness Day, Soberhood is taking a moment to remember the people behind the numbers.

The mothers.
The fathers.
The daughters and sons.
The siblings.
The friends.
The people who were fighting battles most of us never saw.

Every life lost to overdose leaves an empty chair, an unanswered text, a birthday that feels different, and a family learning how to carry grief forward.

But this day is also about the people who are still here. 💜

Recovery is possible. Asking for help is an act of courage. And relapse, substance use, or struggling with addiction does not make someone unworthy of love, dignity, or another chance.

At Soberhood, we believe people deserve support before crisis, compassion instead of judgment, and a community that doesn’t give up on them.

This August 31st, we remember those we lost, stand beside those who are grieving, and lift up those still fighting for another day.

💜 Remember. Educate. Support. Prevent.

If you’ve lost someone to overdose, you are not alone.
If you’re in recovery, your story matters.
If you’re struggling, there is still hope.

We remember them. We support each other. We keep showing up.

💙 FREE TO DREAM — THANK YOU, COMMUNITY! ✨

Last Saturday was something truly special, and we’re still smiling thinking about it! We’re sharing a sneak peek 📸 And we have some BIG news to celebrate…

🎉 Together, our community raised just OVER $15,000! 🎉

Because of your generosity and support, we were able to raise awareness around human trafficking and support services provided through Prism Project and Soberhood.

But the impact of Free to Dream Community Fun Day went far beyond fundraising.

🙌 500+ people served with food
🎒 200+ backpacks and school supplys distributed to local students
💼 5 amazing children’s businesses showcased their creativity and entrepreneurship
🤝 Families connected with valuable community resources and organizations
🎤 We enjoyed uplifting performances from Good News Guys and Pastor Joe Brown & TBAR – The Blessings Are Real
🎪 Games, animals, inflatables, food trucks, entertainment, laughter, and so much more!

A very special THANK YOU to the entire New Creation Church family and community for so generously opening your beautiful church and grounds and hosting this year's event. Your hospitality helped create a welcoming, safe space where our community could come together.

To our volunteers, sponsors, vendors, performers, community partners, families, and everyone who came out—THANK YOU! 💙

This day was a powerful reminder of what is possible when a community comes together with a shared heart for connection, opportunity, hope, and service.
