Congratulations to our colleague Elizabeth Jordan, Senior Program Officer at the Ruth Mott Foundation, on receiving the Karen Aldridge-Eason Innovations for Equity Philanthropy Award from the Council of Michigan Foundations! This well-deserved recognition celebrates Elizabeth’s more than two decades of work advancing equity, community voice, and opportunities for people to shape the decisions and systems that affect their lives.

From helping center north Flint residents’ priorities in the Foundation’s grantmaking to advancing racial healing, educational access, and more equitable policies and practices, Elizabeth has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to meaningful change. Her work is grounded in relationships, trust, and the belief that communities hold the knowledge and leadership needed to shape their own futures. We’re proud to call Elizabeth a colleague and grateful for the passion, integrity, and thoughtfulness she brings to this work every day. Congratulations, Elizabeth!

“Think about one cause or issue you can champion for your community.” That was one of the takeaways from today’s Flint Community Candor: Democracy in Action where Senior Program Officer Elizabeth Jordan was a panelist.

Our team appreciated the opportunity to be part of the important conversation about voting, civic participation, and the many ways we can stay engaged and make a difference in our community between election cycles.
