Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage Renewal approved by voters

Voters support educational opportunities for Genesee County kids, access to beloved arts institutions

FLINT Mich. — Voters on Tuesday approved the Genesee County Arts Education and Cultural Enrichment Millage Renewal, which supports Genesee County's world-class arts and cultural institutions.

The directors of the Longway Planetarium, Sloan Museum of Discovery, Flint Institute of Arts, Flint Institute of Music, McCree Theatre, Greater Flint Arts Council and Berston Field House released this joint statement:

“We would like to thank our community for supporting Genesee County’s world-class arts and cultural institutions by voting to renew this important millage. With this millage renewal approved, we can continue to ensure all Genesee County kids will have access to field trips and one-of-a-kind educational opportunities and experiences beyond the classroom. The millage renewal also ensures all Genesee County residents will continue to have access to exceptional museums, music and theaters, a planetarium and more. We are grateful that our Genesee County community understands the importance of accessible arts and education experiences for all and continues to show their support for these vital arts and cultural institutions.”
