🚨 🐾 K9 SOKA IS HOME SAFE! 🐾

Our sneaky little guy is back in custody! After getting loose from his handler yesterday morning in Irons, K9 Soka was found about 4.5 miles away. He appears healthy—aside from a few porcupine needles—and will be taken to a veterinarian for evaluation.

We couldn’t have found him without the incredible support from our communities in Kent and Lake Counties, and everywhere in between and surrounding. Thank you to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Manistee County Sheriff’s Office, and other area partners who helped in the search, and to everyone who shared our post or kept an eye out for him.

Because of all of you, Soka is safe and headed home. 🐾

_____________________________

This morning, K9 Soka, a new German Shorthair mix with the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, got loose from his handler while in Irons, Michigan. K9 Soka is trained in narcotics detection, microchipped, and wearing a collar with identification (as seen in the photos). He is friendly and may approach people if called.

The dog was last seen about 1.5 miles southwest of Peacock Township Hall in the Manistee National Forest. Lake County Sheriff’s Office has assisted with a ground search. Kent County Sheriff’s Office has deployed a drone to the area in hopes that the weather will now allow an aerial search.

If you see or locate K9 Soka, please secure him if possible and contact your local Sheriff’s Office or Lake County Central Dispatch immediately. Please share this post with people you know near Peacock Township, Sauble, Wolf Lake, Baldwin, and Irons to help us find K9 Soka.
