⚠️ SCAM ALERT: Please Help Us Protect Our Community ⚠️
Genesee County Habitat for Humanity has recently received calls and visits from community members regarding social media posts, messages, and individuals claiming to represent our organization or our home repair programs.
Scammers often use the names and reputations of trusted community organizations to make their requests appear legitimate. We don't want anyone in our community to become a victim.
Please use caution and verify that you are communicating directly with Genesee County Habitat for Humanity before providing personal information or making any payment.
Here are a few important things to remember:
• Applications for Genesee County Habitat for Humanity services are taken IN PERSON by appointment at our office at 101 Burton St., Flint, MI.
• Our contractors will never ask you for money. Costs for our services are paid directly to us.
• Official Habitat email communications will come from an email address ending in .org or our number (810)766-9089
• Do not rely solely on a social media post, advertisement, direct message, phone call, or contractor's claim that they are affiliated with Habitat.
• If someone claims to be working with or on behalf of Genesee County Habitat for Humanity, you can contact our office directly to verify them before providing personal information.
• Never send money or provide sensitive personal or financial information to someone claiming to represent Habitat unless you have confirmed their identity and connection to our organization.
When in doubt, contact Genesee County Habitat for Humanity directly. We would much rather have you verify with us first than risk losing your money or personal information.
