Genesee County Prevention Coalition The GCPC coalition goal is to impact substance use and mental health concerns in our community in hope of changing knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.

We are a diverse group of people working within the community to develop new and different methods to prevent and reduce substance use and mental health disorders. We believe in our collective and individual responsibility to ensure healthy, safe, and productive lives for all Genesee County residents through innovative strategies and community partnerships.

For nearly 30 years, Drug-Free Communities coalitions have been working to prevent local youth substance use and support youth across the country. In a special issue in the Journal of Public Health Practice and Management (JPHPM), CDC has collaborated with the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy to highlight this work.

We extended our deadline 🗓️Tomorrow‼️ is the last day to submit an order for advertisement placement in our Youth Connections Magazine.

We have been able to make this resource available to our community at health fairs, community development opportunities, schools, health care facilities, and public service spaces. We are on track to distribute 4,000 copies during 2026 and preparing for our next distribution in December.
