Winning the right to be heard. Providing experiences that are fun, adventurous and life-changing. Sharing our lives and the Good News of Jesus Christ with adolescents. Inviting them to personally respond to this Good News. Loving them regardless of their response. Nurturing kids so they might grow in their love for Christ and the knowledge of God's Word and become people who can share their faith

with others. Helping young people develop the skills, assets and attitudes to reach their full God-given potential. Encouraging kids to live connected to the Body of Christ by being an active member of a local congregation. Working with a team of like-minded individuals — volunteer leaders, committee members, donors and staff.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Stiverson as a full-time staff member at Young Life Genesee County. His appointment follows the completion of a six-month internship focusing on the ministry of Young Life.

Throughout his internship, Matt demonstrated a remarkable passion for God, a genuine love for youth, and a steadfast commitment to building meaningful community. His dedication and heartfelt approach have truly inspired those around him, and we are honored to have him continue serving in this new capacity in Grand Blanc. He and Cindy Warber will head up efforts to reach youth in the 7th largest public high school in the state of Michigan.

Matt became involved with Young Life Genesee County as a student at Lake Fenton High School. He became a WyldLife leader at Lake Fenton Middle School in 2017 until he resigned to take this full time position in Grand Blanc. He also helped lead Young Life in Lake Fenton.

"I have seen God do amazing things with this ministry," Matt said when accepting this position. "I cannot wait to be working in the Grand Blanc community."

We look forward to witnessing the continued impact of his ministry and the positive influence he will have on the young people and families we serve.

We’re deeply moved to share about a sizable gift from Kathy Skaff, the widow of the late George Skaff for whom our golf tournament is named. Her support fills our hearts with gratitude. When I spoke with Kathy about her gift, she shared a few reflections that echo George's true passions. Beyond the joy of spending time with friends on the course, George cherished making a difference for Genesee County youth. She said, the thought of extending this generosity to Young Life would have brought him great joy and pride, and it is a blessing to carry that spirit forward in his memory. THANK YOU KATHY!
