We are an expansive area that only starts with the beautiful homes on East Street, just East of Downtown Flint. Some will tell you that it goes all the way East to Dort Highway, South the I-69 Expressway, and North to Robert T Longway Boulevard. Who can define any specific boundaries when there is no organized Neighborhood Association with the name East Village? How can you have a neighborhood wit
hout people who live there, people who need a voice, people who need a Neighborhood Association? There are Neighborhoods here that have a capital "N." They are the ones organized by organizers. They have people who live in their Neighborhood. They can do things. There are neighborhoods that have a lower case "n." They are defined by what the eye sees. See a nice park? You see a park neighborhood. See a college? You see a college neighborhood. Even without the organizers, you can still see with your own eyes. And so it goes with the East Village neighborhood of Flint. East of Downtown Flint. Home to the iconic East Village Magazine. But remember, it is a "neighborhood" and not a "Neighborhood."
