Flint Cultural Center Academy Middle School Environmental Science at Thread Creek-Flint Golf Course this morning.
It was a beautiful morning. We enjoyed our Flint River GREEN testing and engaging with the creek.
The hard work these citizen scientists put in will be reported to the golf course. FRWC hasn’t tested here before and they were happy to have us!

FREL (Flint River Environmental Leaders) is a youth activist group of students 7th-12th grade, who work together to make a positive environmental impact on the Flint River and its watershed.
💧We are looking to add members💧
We meet one Saturday a month and discuss what kind of projects, work, support the students would like to implement, and then we go do it!!

Last meeting we worked with Keep Genesee County Beautiful Plant Biology specialist Brandon Denler and learned how to identify and remove invasive species of plants. 🌱🌱🌱
It was super fun, and the kids learned things they will take with them for the rest of their lives and can apply in every space within they live, work and play.
Our next meeting is November 15th 9am-noon!
