We get as many as we can surrendered to our rescue, vetted and adopted into loving indoor homes. Michigan Pit Bull Education Project works all across Michigan. However, our dedicated outreach program, is in Flint Michigan. We are committed to helping 24/7 chained dogs in Flint. We will help provide vet care, spay/neuter, micro-chipping, dog houses, straw, food, collars, and tie outs. We offer educ

ation to help them bring the dog inside. Since the outreach program was implemented in 2016, we have taken in over 500 dogs from the backyards of Flint. We rehabilitated, vetted and placed them up for adoption in warm loving homes. If you need our assistance with your dog or see an animal that needs our help PLEASE CONTACT US. Jonna 248-767-3280

Getting ready for another Outreach Sunday so here’s a couple pictures from last week..

Let me tell you we do not agree with keeping dogs outside 24/7 year round. BUT PEOPLE DO IT. So we focus on improving those dogs lives instead of just bitching about it.
Every Sunday we show up in Flint neighborhoods, go in backyards and make a difference in a dog’s life. We are ready for any opportunity to get them surrendered. One day we will get them out.

You never know what an outreach day will bring. Last week we….

Started off first thing in the morning with a screw in the van tire.
Took care of that.

Also were short handed. Literally doing outreach with a broken hand and missing volunteers.

Focused on getting through the route and checking on every dog in our program. Making sure there weren’t any that were sick or injured. Gave them a big meal with lots of goodies and love.

Got complete dumped on by rain soaked to our underwear mid day and kept pushing.

Picked up two dogs that had been hit by cars and left on the side of the road. Nobody stopped to help them. Thousands of people drove past their bodies and did nothing. Not us. We won’t leave them behind. We will scoop them up no matter what and take them to be cremated with some dignity.

Tomorrow is another outreach day and you never know what we will come across.

Most needed: pig ears, chews and treats. We could also use more flea prevention. All can be found on our Amazon wishlist.

Thank you to everyone that supports our mission ā¤ļøšŸ¾

Puppies safe with rescue ā¤ļø
Last Sunday a women reached out to us asking for help. She took in two dogs she found and didn’t have the money to get them spayed and neutered and had a litter of puppies.
She wanted to surrender the puppies and get the parents fixed. We agreed to help her.
Thank you to the rescue that stepped up for the puppies!
Our group will be paying for the parents to get spayed/neutered.
Being out in neighborhoods, having a presence saves so many lives. If we didn’t show up every week the cycle would just keep continuing. Even saving one dog matters.
We are going out again tomorrow for our usual outreach run and need some supplies!
Pig ears, treats and flea prevention are most needed.
So many dogs rely on us.
Thank you for always supporting our mission 🐾

Warning āš ļø Dead Dogs āš ļø

Yesterday while making our rounds through Flint neighborhoods we found two dead dogs.
The road commission in this county has not been picking them up like they are supposed to. Letting them rot for days and continue to get run over.
The two we found were recently hit.
We may not have gotten any owner surrenders or any dramatic rescues yesterday but we were able to get two these babies off the side of the road and to Animal Control where they will be scanned for a microchip and cremated.
It might be gruesome but this is reality and a common occurrence in Flint. Unaltered dogs running loose, dogs escaping from chains and as****es hitting them without even stopping, leaving them to die.

Some pictures from last weeks outreach as we get ready for another outreach day tomorrow.
Every week we show up for the dogs who’s owners who think it’s okay to keep them outside 24/7. When the laws allow them to there isn’t much we can do to stop it.
We can talk to owners and try to educate them but ultimately it is the owners decision.
We also are just a group of volunteers. We need owners permission to even go on their property. We help them in anyway possible, whether that’s switching them from a chain to a tje out, replacing their dog house or applying flea prevention. Sometimes it feels like we aren’t making any progress but every time we get a dog surrendered it’s a win.
We have an Amazon wishlist with items we need! The dogs love pig ears and bully sticks.
Thank you to our supporters that are always sending us supplies ā¤ļøšŸ¶šŸ¾

WARNING VERY GRAPHIC PHOTOS āš ļø
WHY WHY WHY are we the ones driving an hour to go scrape a dog off the side of the road in Flint? WHY as we are doing it people are driving by thanking us saying the dog has been there 5 days??? Why did anyone who drove by at any point not do something? Once we heard about a dog laying in the road, we couldn’t NOT do something. We weren’t going to let this baby continue to rot and and get ran over. By this point the dog has been decomposing especially with the heat today. The back end is completely detached and the smell you can’t imagine. Whoever’s dog this is YOU’RE WELCOME for us coming out here and getting them off the road. This poor dog is now at animal control where they will be scanned for a microchip and then cremated.
We got there just in time for the storm so they didn’t have to be rained on too.
The people of Flint need to do better. Get off your ass and do something. Anyone could have done what we just did they just don’t have the balls to.
Thank god I was able to put a bag over my cast and Katie brought gloves and a shovel. This dogs life mattered, maybe not to the owners or anyone that drove by and left it there but to us it did. Run free sweet baby šŸ’”šŸ¾šŸŒˆ
