Good morning! Please mark your calendars for 8/27/26 for the SWA/ALA Back to School Orientation and Community Resource Fair .There are 2 sessions: 12-2 and 4-6. There is a wealth of information to get your student ready for a successful year. Student IDs and student schedules will be available. The Community Resource Fair will be from 1-5 in the same building. Join us for fun, information, and surprise drawings!

ALA students, staff will be monitoring Edgenuity all morning. If you need a Quiz unlocked, please be patient and someone will take care of it as soon as they can. Tests will still be taken when we return to school.

SUMMER EXPERIENCE CANCELLATION
Due to extremely hot temperatures and a heat advisory, Summer Experience is canceled tomorrow, Tuesday, July 14, 2026.

Last Week, Accelerated Learning Academy and Eisenhower Elementary students finished up the “Readers as Leaders” project.

They developed stronger reading skills and built relationships with 4th graders. We ended with a celebration.

Yesterday, Accelerated Learning Academy had their Annual Senior Open House.

We started with a Mental Health Fair. This was an opportunity to connect students and families to community resources as the summer approaches. We know what works for one, doesn’t work for all. A special Thanks to Genesee Health Plan, Genesee Health System, Peckham, Reach Program, Flint Community School Health Services, New Oakland Psychological and Mid Michigan Therapy Dogs🐕 !

Last Thursday, Accelerated Learning Academy students attended the Annual Student MAEO conference. Throughout the year these students work on projects to present at the conference. The theme this year, “I am what I choose to become. I am not what happened to me”.

Before the conference:
The first project they turned in over a month ago was the school video linked below. The students earned Third Place.

Each student had to pick 3 areas to enter from Interviewing, Art, Management Decision Making, Human Relations Decision making, Community Service Project, Debate and more.
