A big thank you to Chris and Bishop International Airport for giving us an amazing tour!

We learned how the airport responsibly protects waterways from pollution. We also learned how they are actively working to lower their carbon foot print!

A special thank you to Mrs. Simone Lightfoot of Light Green Energy, LLC. for taking time out of her busy schedule to partner with the Flint Community Lab for our first ever Water and Energy summer camp! We've learned so much about emissions, positive natural sources of energy, and even how to properly shake hands when meeting for the first time!

FLINT RESIDENTS:

The City of Flint precautionary boil filtered water advisory will remain in place until midday Tuesday, July 11, while we await the results of bacterial testing.

The City is working to repair a break in an 18-inch transmission main at Clifford St. and E. 12th St. The transmission main has been isolated from the rest of the water system and residents should not experience disruptions in service.

Repairs are also ongoing at the following locations:
- Glenn Ave and Home Ave.
- Clio Rd. between Mack Ave. and Dayton St.
- 1800 block of Seymour Ave.
- 800 E. Foss Ave.

The boil filtered water advisory has been issued out of an abundance of caution, since several areas of the city were impacted by these breaks.

Flint residents should continue to use filtered water. Free filters and cartridges are available for pickup at Flint City Hall, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Residents should use bottled water or filtered and boiled water for cooking, drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, rinsing foods, and mixing powdered infant formula. No precautions are needed for bathing or showering.

When using tap water, bring cold filtered water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

Residents should report any changes in their water by calling 810-766-7202. This line is monitored 24/7. If you leave a message after hours, someone will return your call as soon as possible.

⚠️ ATTENTION FLINT RESIDENTS ⚠️:

As a precaution, the City of Flint is issuing a citywide boil filtered water advisory due to a large water main break. Residents and businesses are advised to boil filtered water for drinking and cooking until further notice.

Locations throughout the city may experience low water pressure. The City of Flint Water Department is making repairs at several locations.

The City of Flint advises the following precautions:

- Residents should use bottled water or filtered and boiled water for cooking, drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, rinsing foods, and mixing powdered infant formula. When using tap water, bring cold filtered water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

- When city crews flush water mains, it might cause discolored water. If you observe discolored water from your plumbing, call the water department at 810-766-7202. This line is monitored 24/7. If you leave a message after hours, someone will return your call as soon as possible.

- When the boil water advisory is lifted, residents should flush their building plumbing. How to flush your plumbing.

- When the boil water advisory is lifted, residents should clean their faucet aerators. How to clean your aerator.

- When the boil water advisory is lifted, residents should change their water filter cartridge. Free water filter units and replacement cartridges are available for Flint residents at Flint City Hall, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Residents can also pick up free water testing kits at the same location.

- Residents should continue to take appropriate precautions for lead reduction, such as using bottled water or a lead-reducing water filter after the water supply is free of bacteria.

- Harmful bacteria in drinking water can cause short-term effects, such as diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms. They may pose a greater health risk for infants, young children, the elderly, and people with severely compromised immune systems. If you experience any of these symptoms and they persist, you may want to seek medical advice.
