The Asheville Quilt Show would like to thank Asheville Cotton Co. for sponsoring our 2026 Dorothy Tresner exhibit. The Dorothy Tresner Award was established in 1992 and named after its first recipient, who was a charter member. This award honors a person who has exemplified the mission of the Asheville Quilt Guild by demonstrating their dedication to the art of quilting through instructing, encouraging, or inspiring others. This year's award winner was NancyLynn Sharpless who certainly qualifies and is most deserving of the award.

The Asheville Quilt Show would like to thank Aurifil Threads for their sponsorship of our show, and especially for sponsoring our Product Raffle booth which is always a popular spot for our visitors and even our volunteers to take chances on boatloads of wonderful prizes! The Lucky thread raffle winners were Teresa Sawyer who won the BIG prize of an entire case of gorgeous Aurifil threads, and Susan Walke who won the second place collection of Aurifil threads. Third place winner Cathy Stanes was not present for the drawing, but one of our wonderful vendors who lives near her was able to deliver her Aurifil prize for us.
Aurifil sponsors the Outstanding Machine Workmanship ribbon which was won this year by Karen Lambdin of Kannapolis NC with quilt #303 Silk and Soul, and the Aurifil Award Ribbon which was won this year by Carol Monti of Blacksburg VA with quilt #1009 Beneath the Blue Ridge.
Aurifil also sponsors and provides thread for our Kids Sewing where kids, and the young at heart, sew their own pillows using real sewing machines and, of course, Aurifil threads!

The Asheville Quilt Show would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Moda Fabrics for their most generous sponsorship of our show. Besides their financial support, Moda also provides all the beautiful table coverings for our show tables in Admissions, Membership, Viewer's Choice, Opportunity Quilt, WOINA, Product Raffle, Demonstrations and other areas around the show. After the show, this fabric is used throughout the year by our Community Quilts committee who puts together kits for members to make into quilts and other items that are then donated to a number of local charities for both kids and adults. Every yard of this fabric is used to support the Guild's wonderful charity work.
This year, visitors to the Moda booth were invited to sit down and sew a quilt block under the guidance of the wonderful Moda Reps, and all the blocks will be stitched together into quilts which will be used to support foster care children through the good works of Comfort Cases.
Moda also provides the fabrics used in our Kids Sewing where kids, and the young at heart, can sew their own pillow to take home, and participate in a fun scavenger hunt.
Moda Bingo is a fan favorite every year as our last Demonstration on Saturday and, just as the name implies, it's a fun bingo game where Moda fabric is what you win! Moda donates a generous selection of Moda precuts so lots of players go home with beautiful new Moda fabrics.
Moda sponsors our Best of Show ribbon won this year by Margaret Solomon Gunn of Gorham ME, with quilt #607 Adventures of Aquamarine and Amethyst, and the Moda Award ribbon which is given each year to a particularly stunning quilt that was made using Moda Fabrics. This year's winner was #212 Forest Acres by Bernadette Houghton of Chapin SC.
As the pictures show, everyone at the Asheville Quilt Show certainly does ❤️ Moda and our wonderful Moda Reps, and we are so grateful for their continued support of our show.

The 42nd Annual Asheville Quilt Show last week was, by all accounts, a smashing success with record attendance, out-of-this-world quilts, fabulous demonstrations, fun raffles, the best vendors ever, and inspiring special exhibits, none of which could have been possible without every one of our volunteers who put in so much hard work, time and energy to put this show on. Jan Duckworth, our Volunteer Coordinator, along with the whole Asheville Quilt Show committee, wants to thank each and every one of the volunteers who worked on the show this year for sharing their time and talent to ensure a successful show. We appreciate you all so very much, and we hope to see all of you, and maybe a new friend or two, next year for another wonderful quilt show!

The Asheville Quilt Show wrapped up on Saturday, bringing more than 300 quilts, dozens of vendors and hands-on opportunities for children to learn the craft.

Lots of pictures from the last day of the 2026 Asheville Quilt Show today! And a little video of the Opportunity Quilt drawing with our own guild member Maryellen Kmiec as the lucky winner, who just happened to be close by! Most of the "Judy Girls" special exhibit quilters were in the house today so check out their gorgeous quilts. Also some pictures of NancyLynn Sharpless and her inspiring work in the Tresner Award winner special exhibit. Scott Murkin also made an appearance today and spent some time sharing his thoughts on miniatures while showing some of his mini works of art. Such fabulous special exhibits! Our demonstration room, sponsored by Tennessee Quilts, was full to capacity for our annual fan favorite Moda Bingo! The first winner got her picture taken with Moda Fabrics founder Mark Dunn, or at least with a Mark Dunn standee anyway! Our Viewers Choice award was won by our very own Stephanie Wilds for her "My Happy Place" art quilt which seemed to move so many people in so many different ways. Our Moda reps did the honors of drawing the winning tickets for the Aurifil thread collection and other special prizes at Product Raffle. I even spotted a few visitors in very appropriately quilty attire today! See if you can spot them. And of course another selection of random quilts that caught my eye today!
Taking down the show seems to happen so much faster than putting it up! Check out the pictures of the dismantling of the show floor taken within 90 minutes of the close of the show! What amazing volunteers we have!
Thank you to all who took the time to come to our show this year. Let's plan to meet again next year, shall we? August 12-14, 2027 in the same place and hopefully with the same wonderful vendors and visitors, plus even more quilting friends. Mark your calendars and start making your plans now!

Today was another fabulous day at the 2026 Asheville Quilt Show! Lots of kids came through working on their scavenger hunts and sewing up their little pillows using beautiful Moda fabric donated of course by Moda Fabrics! The Moda booth was busy recruiting visitors (and volunteers 😊 I've made 2 so far!) to make more quilt blocks that are being put together and finished into quilts which will be donated to Comfort Cases for kids in foster care. Our vendor booths were attracting lots of interest and of course all the beautiful quilts in the show were oooohed and aaaaahed over all day long. Check out which quilts caught my eye today in the pictures below.
We'll be open from 9-4 tomorrow, Saturday August 15 so don't miss your chance to see the show this year! The silent auction and opportunity quilt raffle will be closing around 2:30 and winners will be announced shortly after. Product Raffle will still be drawing winning ticket numbers every hour all day and giving away dozens of prizes so come and take your chances at winning some beautiful items.
