The 2026 Winner's Photo Gallery is now live on our webpage and you can find it linked here: https://ashevillequiltguild.org/quilt_show . Scroll down just past the pictures of the 3 top winners and click the box that says 2026 WINNER'S PHOTO GALLERY to see all the pictures in order by category. Once you click a picture, you can click the right arrow to move through the gallery. Double clicking on a picture will allow you to zoom in and see more detail.

DID YOU KNOW? Did you know that the Asheville Quilt Show has a special category just for JUNIOR QUILTERS? Well it's true, and here's proof! These two lovely young quilters, Ivy (12 years old) and Gabby (5 years old) are just two of nine junior quilters who entered our quilt show this year. The quilts are not judged, but each one is displayed in the show. Each junior quilter also received a goody bag which included some very special items such as a framed 5x7 picture of their quilt, a quilt block necklace, Moda Fabrics charm pack, a thank you card, and a color mixing reference card. These items will help junior quilters continue their journey of creating beautiful quilts.
This is the rule for the Junior Quilter category for 2026: "Junior Quilter: Entrant must be 16 years of age or under. Construction of top and quilting must be primarily the work of the entrant.
Minimal assistance by an adult is acceptable as is longarm quilting by another. This category is not judged for prizes!"
Do you have young people in your life who might be interested in making a quilt for next year's show? The Asheville Quilt Show encourages junior quilters to participate, and encourages guild members to help their relatives, neighbors and friends make a quilt.

LOST QUILT ALERT! This quilt, Message From Atlantis made by Paula Ridley and measuring 35 x 42 inches, was lost in transit from another quilt show. Paula says this quilt took her over a year to make and she had planned to show it at the 2026 Asheville Quilt Show but UPS still has not recovered it!
If you happen to see this quilt at another quilt show with a different maker's name on it, or for sale online or in person, please contact the Asheville Quilt Show page by commenting on this post or sending a private message so we can put you in touch with Paula.
Help us help Paula recover her lost quilt!

The Viewer's Choice Award from the 2026 Asheville Quilt Show was won by our own Asheville Quilt Guild member Stephanie Wilds of Old Fort NC for her art quilt #1002 called My Happy Place. Besides Viewer's Choice, this quilt also won second place in its category and Judges choice. Congratulations to Stephanie!

The Asheville Quilt Show would like to thank Asheville Cotton Co. for sponsoring our 2026 Dorothy Tresner exhibit. The Dorothy Tresner Award was established in 1992 and named after its first recipient, who was a charter member. This award honors a person who has exemplified the mission of the Asheville Quilt Guild by demonstrating their dedication to the art of quilting through instructing, encouraging, or inspiring others. This year's award winner was NancyLynn Sharpless who certainly qualifies and is most deserving of the award.

The Asheville Quilt Show would like to thank Aurifil Threads for their sponsorship of our show, and especially for sponsoring our Product Raffle booth which is always a popular spot for our visitors and even our volunteers to take chances on boatloads of wonderful prizes! The Lucky thread raffle winners were Teresa Sawyer who won the BIG prize of an entire case of gorgeous Aurifil threads, and Susan Walke who won the second place collection of Aurifil threads. Third place winner Cathy Stanes was not present for the drawing, but one of our wonderful vendors who lives near her was able to deliver her Aurifil prize for us.
Aurifil sponsors the Outstanding Machine Workmanship ribbon which was won this year by Karen Lambdin of Kannapolis NC with quilt #303 Silk and Soul, and the Aurifil Award Ribbon which was won this year by Carol Monti of Blacksburg VA with quilt #1009 Beneath the Blue Ridge.
Aurifil also sponsors and provides thread for our Kids Sewing where kids, and the young at heart, sew their own pillows using real sewing machines and, of course, Aurifil threads!

The Asheville Quilt Show would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Moda Fabrics for their most generous sponsorship of our show. Besides their financial support, Moda also provides all the beautiful table coverings for our show tables in Admissions, Membership, Viewer's Choice, Opportunity Quilt, WOINA, Product Raffle, Demonstrations and other areas around the show. After the show, this fabric is used throughout the year by our Community Quilts committee who puts together kits for members to make into quilts and other items that are then donated to a number of local charities for both kids and adults. Every yard of this fabric is used to support the Guild's wonderful charity work.
This year, visitors to the Moda booth were invited to sit down and sew a quilt block under the guidance of the wonderful Moda Reps, and all the blocks will be stitched together into quilts which will be used to support foster care children through the good works of Comfort Cases.
Moda also provides the fabrics used in our Kids Sewing where kids, and the young at heart, can sew their own pillow to take home, and participate in a fun scavenger hunt.
Moda Bingo is a fan favorite every year as our last Demonstration on Saturday and, just as the name implies, it's a fun bingo game where Moda fabric is what you win! Moda donates a generous selection of Moda precuts so lots of players go home with beautiful new Moda fabrics.
Moda sponsors our Best of Show ribbon won this year by Margaret Solomon Gunn of Gorham ME, with quilt #607 Adventures of Aquamarine and Amethyst, and the Moda Award ribbon which is given each year to a particularly stunning quilt that was made using Moda Fabrics. This year's winner was #212 Forest Acres by Bernadette Houghton of Chapin SC.
As the pictures show, everyone at the Asheville Quilt Show certainly does ❤️ Moda and our wonderful Moda Reps, and we are so grateful for their continued support of our show.
