Our inaugural Mother-Daughter Dinner was a resounding success, boasting an impressive turnout and ensuring every guest departed with a token of appreciation. We extend our sincerest gratitude to the volunteers and donors who contributed to making the evening truly unforgettable for our guests.
Thank you Lowe's Home Improvement Buckhannon, Tractor Supply Co. Philippi and Philippi Shop N Save Express for the generous donations of flowers and hanging baskets. Thank you Candy Drainer, Buffy McCord Marcum and Ann Murphy for providing deserts. Thank you Manassas Pentecostal Church for providing the ham for the meal. Thank you Bob & Gatha Costillo for providing decor for this event as well as the help in setting up and cleaning up. Thank you Kathy Friend Marcum for helping set up and serve the meal tonight.
Also, congratulations to our “Mother of the Year” recipients Linda McKinney & runners up Melissa Renee Ramsey & Alishia Marie Shahan. These women were selected by their peers, but we celebrate all Mothers, today and tomorrow; Mother’s Day May 10, 2026.
I will have portraits for the mothers/daughters after editing. I will post these photos once they are edited.

One person we serve told us, “I was having such a bad day (missing their spouse) and when you showed up with that meal it made it not so bad”!

Our team has finalized the second meal distribution for the Ministry thru Meals outreach 2026. Due to the hectic nature of this round, photographs of the food preparation were inadvertently omitted. Today's menu included ham (courtesy of Manassas Pentecostal Church in Virginia), mashed potatoes, green beans, and homemade peach crisp, (all donated by Teens For Christ Church members). We are grateful for the volunteers and donors who contributed to the preparation and delivery of 45 meals.
Included in the meal bag were the two current flyers for the upcoming Homecoming Service and Bake Sale to fund TFC Events Ministry and one scripture card that was chosen for each bag!
