✨ Earlier this week, members of our team attended The Arc of New Jersey Criminal Justice Advocacy Program summit focused on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and justice innovation.

It was a great day to connect, learn, and share ideas with leaders from the I/DD, mental health, and criminal justice systems across New Jersey.

Together, we talked about how these systems can work better as a team to support people with I/DD—both before they enter the justice system and while they are moving through it.

We also heard from a panel of ombudsmen who shared how they work together to advocate for people. They even talked about staying connected through their “Ombuds Club” to help solve problems across systems.

Former Governor McGreevey opened the day by sharing important facts about people with I/DD in the justice system in New Jersey and gave a strong call to action for all of us to get involved.

💬 We’re grateful to be part of these important conversations and ongoing efforts to build a more supportive and connected system for all.
