Blessings in a Backpack North Florida Chapter The Blessings in a Backpack North Florida provides weekend food to school-aged children in North Florida who might otherwise go hungry. Join Us!

We mobilize our local community to help kids return to school on Monday, ready to learn. Blessings in a Backpack partners with schools, churches, business and community based organizations to ensure that food insecure school children are fed on the weekends throughout the school year. Blessings in a Backpack is a results oriented program that partners directly with schools. We view our school tea

ms as the experts and they refer the children to our program that they know are hungry and hurting. Dependent upon the federal meal programs for food during the school week, these children leave school on Friday and do not know when or if they will eat again until the Monday bell rings. Together with our school partners, Blessings creates a nutritional safety net of healthy meals 7 days a week for these food insecure children. A critical gap in nutrition is now filled with healthy food every single weekend throughout the school year. This partnership allows each child to arrive to school nourished and ready to learn. It cost $175 to feed one for an entire school year. Every Thursday we bring the weekend nutrition to the school, every Friday it is placed into their backpacks, and every Saturday and Sunday each child has something nutritious and delicious to eat, something made just for them. This is how we create Hunger Free Weekends right here in North Florida!

We are thrilled to announce that Betsy Waltrip has joined the Advisory Board for the Blessings in a Backpack North Florida Chapter! 🎒✨

Betsy is a Life Transition Specialist with Southern Transition Services. She brings a deep passion for service and community support to our mission. After a career as a Respiratory Therapist, Betsy launched four businesses dedicated to helping families navigate major life transitions with compassion, dignity, and guidance.

✏️ Students on the First Coast are back in the classroom this week!

🎒📚As a new school year kicks off, we want to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to Jill Aichroth, Director of Talent Acquisition at Treace Medical Concepts, Inc., for her incredibly generous donation of school supplies. These essential tools will be shared directly with students at our Blessings schools to help them start the year focused, confident, and prepared. 🎒✨

But our mission doesn’t stop at the classroom door. This school year, the Blessings in a Backpack North Florida Chapter is planning to provide weekend nutrition food bags to over 5,100 kids to ensure they have the nourishment they need to thrive all week long. Partnerships like this remind us how powerful our community can be when we work together.
