Nathan’s corner!

From our caregiver ♥️:

Hello guys! Its me Nathan again :P

Not to much of a silly story but a story of a brave little man!! Batman!

After leaving the doors open just for him for so long, hes finally been able to come out and show just how amazing he really is❤️.

I talked about him last time but being able to see him actually roam around, without running away when anyone would get near him, seeing him be free instead of staying in his coop warms my heart every single day. I think ruby finally convinced him to get out of the house and touch some grass! Haha😂

Other than that, everyone has been doing amazing. Even though the days are hard after losing Finn, once I get to see them and stay with them it makes my whole world brighter.

President Donald Trump says he is moving to allow farmers and ranchers to process their own meat rather than having to use USDA-inspected processing facilities.

The idea emerged after conservative radio host and ranch owner Glenn Beck urged Trump to “break the back” of what he called the meat-processing “cartel.” Trump responded that Beck had given him a “very good idea,” then announced that he was authorizing legal documents to allow farmers and ranchers to “PROCESS THEIR OWN FOOD.”

But there is a major food-safety question here.

Currently, meat intended for commercial sale across state lines generally must come from facilities operating under federal USDA inspection. Those inspections include controls intended to prevent contamination and ensure meat is produced under federal food-safety standards.

Trump's proposal appears to seek ways for farmers and ranchers to slaughter and process their own animals for sale without having to use those federally inspected facilities. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins says the USDA will announce measures to “waive red tape” in meat processing and expand ranchers' ability to sell across state lines. But the administration has not yet explained exactly which inspection or safety requirements would be eliminated, or what oversight would replace them.

Of note, even the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, which supports expanding opportunities for smaller and regional processors, is warning against weakening federal inspection. They say weakening federal meat inspection and food-safety standards “is not the answer” and that putting consumer trust at risk “would be a serious mistake.”
