A recent biography of Fred Rogers shared a foundational philosophy that Fred believed in and lived. Amy Hollingsworth writes, "Mister Rogers has stated that the guiding philosophy of his life is one he gleaned from a seminary professor; you can be an accuser or an advocate." He spent his life as an advocate.

We all, no matter our circumstances or behaviors, need an advocate. Jesus is promised to be that in 1 John 2:1-2. While it's easy to listen to the accuser, healing comes when we listen and lean into our Advocate.

Our hope at New Haven is to be a place where the voice of the Advocate can be heard and that healing can be fostered in that place of grace.
