Our Mission is to help children succeed by matching them with appropriate adult mentors. Researchers found that after 18 months of spending time with their Bigs, the Little Brothers and Little Sisters, compared to those children not in our program, were:

* 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
* 27% less likely to begin using alcohol
* 52% less likely to skip school
* 37% less likely to skip a class
* 33% less likely to hit someone

They also found that the Littles were more confident of their performance in schoolwork and getting along better with their families.

Kids just need someone who shows up! Sometimes, it's easier to talk to someone who isn't Mom, Dad, or a teacher. Sometimes, quality time with someone who cares is what you need to re-set and be ready to face the week. BIG Brothers BIG Sisters helps match boys and girls ages 6-18 with adult mentors in our community. BIG Brothers BIG Sisters Programs across the country have demonstrated that mentorship helps increase self-confidence, school attendance, and interpersonal skills and more. YOU could be the ONE that shows up for a child or teen in our community. In just a few hours a month, you can make a BIG difference! To learn more about becoming a mentor visit Flagstaffbigs.org

Over the past year, I had the opportunity to serve as the Recruitment and Enrollment Specialist for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff! Previously, I completed my undergraduate field hours at BBBSF as a BSW intern! Now, I’m on to my next challenge. I loved working for this organization, making new friends, and getting to know the wonderful Flagstaff community 💚
