FLYRS - FLagstaff Youth RiderS FLYRS develop resilient, caring, and growth oriented youth through mountain biking.

FLagstaff Youth RiderS fosters personal growth and an active lifestyle through mountain biking in Flagstaff, AZ. Whether your child already loves shredding our local trails, or just wants to give mountain biking a try, FLYRS offers a community-based and team-oriented program where your kiddo can meet other youth riders and develop more confidence and skill on their bike.

FLYRS coaches are gearing up for Summer Camps for the next 8 weeks! Our Summer camp coach training focuses more on group dynamics, full day schedules, risk management, skill progression and different cycling games.

This spring, we partnered with Summit High School for a four-week program focused on using bikes as tools for transportation and independence. Students learned bike component names through Bike Bingo, practiced identifying common mechanical issues, and built hands-on maintenance skills like fixing flats, tightening quick releases, and checking brakes using the ABCQ check. We also spent time riding the FUTS and learning how to safely use Flagstaff’s trail system to get around town.

We wrapped up the program with a visit to , where students received reliable bikes, learned about employment opportunities, and got to see the incredible impact CATs has in our community. Beyond providing bikes, CATs creates access by helping people in Flagstaff gain independence, job opportunities, and valuable skills. We hope to see some of our Summit High School students continue volunteering and learning more about bike repair. Huge thank you to CATs for supporting these students, donating bikes, and helping make this partnership possible! 🚲

The Racing and Development team finished up their season this week. FLYRS is so proud of all these young adults for putting in the effort for the last 19 weeks.

Doing strength , trail runs because of the weather, camping trips, to weekly adventure rides. We can’t wait for next year.
