Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff

Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff The Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff is an affiliate of the Arizona Community Foundation serving Flagstaff and Northern Arizona.

Established in 1987, the Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff is a family of charitable funds created for the community, by the community. Some funds have a broad grantmaking focus while others target a specific organization or field. Grants are awarded year-round either through donor advice or through a competitive process overseen by our local Board of Advisors. Each year, ACF of Flagstaff

collaborates with local philanthropic partners to award grants to local nonprofit organizations, recently distributing more than $1,000,000 in a single year.

What a day for Flagstaff.

Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff was proud to celebrate an incredible milestone this weekend alongside Habitat for Humanity of Northern Arizona and our community partners.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and community, we’ve raised an additional $170,000, bringing our total investment to $320,000 to support two Timber Sky Starter Homes.

From signing beams to sharing stories, Saturday was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when people come together with a shared purpose. This innovative model led by Eric Wolverton continues to open doors, creating new pathways to homeownership and long-term stability for families in Flagstaff.

We’re grateful to our funding partners, donors, and everyone who showed up to be part of this moment. Your support is helping turn possibility into progress.

Together, we’re building more than homes. We’re building opportunity.

Yesterday morning, we had the honor of celebrating community, collaboration, and impact at ACF of Flagstaff’s 2025 Grant Awards Celebration.

Over 300 attendees joined us to recognize the heart of our region: our local nonprofits, collaborative funders, donors, and community champions.

Thanks to tremendous generosity and strategic planning, ACF of Flagstaff awarded over $1.7 million in grant funds this year alone, supporting the vital work of nonprofits across Northern Arizona.

A highlight of the event came when our President & CEO, Anna María Chávez, announced that ACF endowed $150,000 to build a starter home through the Habitat for Humanity of Northern Arizona Timber Sky Project, mobilized by the Northern Arizona Housing Fund held by ACF. This will make a lasting impact in affordable housing that will serve our community for generations to come.

We proudly presented Eric Wolverton, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Northern Arizona, with the $150,000 check to support this wonderful initiative.

But the excitement didn’t stop there. In a surprise twist, Anna María announced that ACF will grant an additional $25,000, kicking off a challenge for attendees and community members to help match the effort and endow a second Habitat home by raising another $150,000 by the end of the year.

We are thrilled to share that the Forest Highlands Foundation was the first to step up with $25,000, bringing our committed amount to $76,000 in just 24 hours. We are excited to continue working toward this goal.
