The Northern Arizona Book Festival is proud to present Flagstaff's next Youth Poet Laureate, Marijose Pesqueria Meizoso!

Marijose Pesqueira Meizoso is a bilingual Mexican-Spanish poet studying a Sociology major, Creative Writing certificate, and an Anthropology minor with Honors at Northern Arizona University. Born in Hermosillo, Mexico, and raised in the Sonora-Arizona border culture, she has won awards in poetry in both Mexico and the United States. She loves to read, write, learn about the Arts, build expressionist outfits, and chat with her loved ones over a nice cup of cafecito (coffee). One of the main things that Marijose loves about poetry is its power to change the world, to teach us how to love, and to remind us of the beauty of being human.

Congratulations Marijose!!!
