"As a student with Challenge I was invited to a community where God was the center of it all! It was also where God gave me marvelous friends that encourage me, want to do life with me and always point me to Jesus! Now, as a missionary apprentice, I get to serve students and meet them where they are at, just like how I was served before! I’m excited show what true community looks like at Christian Challenge".

We are excited to announce that this year's speaker for Proclaim is Arjay Gruspe!

Arjay has been the Director of Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) for the Hawaii Pacific Baptist Convention since 2008. He also serves as the pastor of Pawa’a Community Church in the Manoa community of Honolulu. Arjay received Christ during his college years at the University of Hawaii-Manoa so both roles reflect his passion for reaching the next generation of students for Christ. Arjay considers it one of his greatest joys to now serve a new generation of students in the same way he once was served.

His vision is to see students become passionate followers of Christ and servant-influencers for God’s glory.

What is a Christian Challenge Apprentice?

Christian Challenge Apprentices are final year students or recent graduates who commit to up to two years to raise part-time support to serve alongside campus missionaries at a Challenge chapter. The value to Challenge is having another staff member who multiplies ministry to the campus. The values to the Apprentice are a meaningful part-time ministry role, an opportunity to grow in servant-leadership, continued mentoring from a campus missionary and the chance to explore their own possible calling to vocational ministry.

More college campuses will be back in full swing this week!

Please pray for missionaries and students on each of these campuses this week!

Christian Challenge had missionaries all over the world this summer!

Students from Central Arizona College served in Ghana as well as doing local outreach!

13 college students joined FSBC Glendale and served together in Puerto Rico

Students from Grace Baptist Glendale served in Thailand and Mexico

2 college students were able to serve with Church on Mill in Thailand

And Christian Challenge at NAU led a missions team from Hawaii in local ministry in Northern Arizona!

Jonathan Vetta and Lily Wadsworth from Cochise College joined Village Meadows Baptist Church to help out with Vacation Bible School!

We are so grateful for church partnerships that allow college students to serve!
