TELL US YOUR FAVORITE PICKIN' MEMORY!
Pickin’ in the Pines Celebrate’s 20 Years in 2026

Almost two decades ago, a handful of bluegrass lovers had a bold idea—to bring a world-class music festival to the pines of Flagstaff. That first year, over 800 people showed up, proving the dream had roots. Laurie Lewis & The Right Hands and John Reischman and the Jaybirds headlined what would become the very first Pickin’ in the Pines in 2006.

Since then, we’ve grown in size and spirit—fine-tuning the festival, expanding our lineup, and welcoming some of the best bluegrass and acoustic acts around. Through it all, one thing hasn’t changed: the incredible community that surrounds us. Many of our original organizers, volunteers, and festivalgoers are still part of the journey, year after year. Thanks to all of you, Pickin’ in the Pines has become one of the most beloved festivals in the West. We’re so glad you’re here—let’s keep the music going!

To celebrate this amazing community achievement, we’d love for you to share a memorable Pickin’ moment and a photo that captures the spirit of the festival for a special commemorative spread in our 2026 program. We’ll also highlight your stories and snapshots online. Just a short and sweet memory will do—like a good fiddle tune, keep it snappy and heartfelt!
