Flagstaff International Film Festival

We are so excited to share that the short film 𝐵𝑢𝑟𝑟𝑜𝑠, which we screened during our inaugural Flagstaff International Film Festival in 2023, is now available to watch online through Vimeo Staff Picks and YouTube.

The film follows a young Indigenous girl who discovers a Latina migrant her age who has been separated from her father in the beautiful but dangerous Sonoran Desert.

𝐵𝑢𝑟𝑟𝑜𝑠 premiered at Tribeca, played 76 film festivals, and qualified for the Academy Awards. Shot on Super 16mm in Sells, Arizona, on the Tohono O’odham Nation, the film features a cast of first-time actors from the Tohono O’odham Nation.

We are honored to have been part of Burros’ festival journey and to have shared this beautiful film with Flagstaff audiences, and we’re excited that it is now available for audiences everywhere to experience.
