We never know in life what will be asked of us and how we will respond. April 13th forever changed my life; and each time, I host an event I'm reminded of what I lost, and I have learned to allow myself the freedom to appreciate what a jewel I was blessed to carry, nurture and submit back to God. I was bestowed with two precious gems, Destiny & Curtis, both are my biggest cheerleaders and more often than not, I marvel at how blessed I am that I was chosen to be their mother.

I taught my children to give back, and on September 21st, in my son's honor, I will host my first of many charitable auctions to inspire other youth to reach their greatest potential through my son’s Foundation, LLC Rise Above the Violence (created in his name, LLC stands for Long Live Curt).

Listen…It Is Ok To Put Yourself First Sometimes:

I have been back home from South Africa for 5 days and have been sick with the flu this whole time. On this trip I didn’t do anything to build my body up before going because I neglected me.

I have been running and seeing to everybody else and have neglected myself in the process. Granted there have been some major and extreme developments that have occurred within the last two months that really didn’t leave me any room for myself. Let me back that up and say, since 2021. So much has happened that it is exhausting to even talk about. However I am still here…thank God!

I thank God for my husband, Anthony House, who pushed me to go on this trip to . There I was able to decompress and unwind as well as be rejuvenated in my spirit. I thank God for my brothers and sisters in the Lord who were able to pour into me and I unto them. That’s what iron sharpening iron is all about.

Please, please, please take care of you! It’s okay to have time just for you. You are worth it.

The in Paris is one of the most fascinating places I have ever visited. This dream was made a reality. What I declared when I was 14 yrs old was finally manifested a little over 40 years later.

The love of museums and discovering history was birthed in me by my father. My earliest memory of seeing artifacts and pictures from distant lands was at the age of four on his shoulders. He was delighted at my love of discovery because he shared the same sense of adventure in learning. He and I both devoured the encyclopedias at home and in libraries, because through them we traveled to distance lands and eras.

It is a must need of mine to visit museums in every state I travel to. Every country I have been to as well you will find me in at least one of their museums. Yes, it is one of my favorite past times.

What is the most satisfying way to pass your time?

Within 8 months I have been to 8 countries and I am heading out again next month. Traveling affords you the opportunity to discover yourself in a different way. Patterns, behaviors, mindsets and your level of flexibility is brought to your attention when faced with new adventures.

This video was taken in Cape Town, South Africa in back March of this year. I loaded it up while in Paris the following month. Hope you enjoy.
