****Attention****

As most everyone is aware by now there Hurricane Isaias is moving toward the Gulf Coast today and will make landfall sometime tonight. Ahead of the storm Ben Hill County Commissioners have issued a State of Emergency effective at noon today October 9, 2026. This declaration will remain in effect until October 12th, 2026.

This declaration does not mean that we are expecting Tropical Storm force weather, but allows Emergency Management to act quickly just in case any severe weather does effect the citizens of Ben Hill County.

Please see the attached declaration.

As always be careful if you have to be on the roads during the rainy evening and night ahead.
