💛 Help us stock out Sharing Box! We are trying to keep it full of HYGIENE PRODUCTS during the month of June.

Located in the median in front of Fitzgerald Utilities on West Central Avenue, our Sharing Box is an outdoor cabinet available to the community 24/7, offering free essential items such as non-perishable food, toiletries, and hygiene products. It operates on a simple principle: take what you need, leave what you can.
There’s no paperwork, no judgment, and no questions asked—just neighbors helping neighbors. This project exists to combat food insecurity and provide quiet, dignified support to anyone who may need a little extra help right now.

Madison Stone Shares Mission Trip Experience with Lions Club

Members of the Lions Club recently welcomed Madison Stone as their guest speaker. Madison shared highlights from a mission trip she participated in during her spring break to the Dominican Republic.

The trip was sponsored by Georgia Southern Cru, a college ministry that partners with Filter of Hope on short-term mission projects. During the trip, volunteers helped install household water filters for families living in impoverished communities.

She explained that the water filters not only meet an important physical need by providing access to clean drinking water, but also serve as a gospel illustration. Volunteers use the transformation of dirty water into clean water as an analogy for Christ’s forgiveness and spiritual cleansing.

Reflecting on her experience, Stone described the trip as both rewarding and humbling. She encouraged others who may be interested in participating in a similar mission opportunity to consider getting involved.

Stone attended the meeting as the guest of Lion Christine Stone, her mother.

The Lions Club thanked Madison for sharing her inspiring story and providing members with a firsthand look at the impact of mission work in the Dominican Republic.

Beth McQuaig-McIntyre with the Christian Kitchen was the guest speaker at our last Lions Club meeting. Beth is a board member with The Christian kitchen and enjoys sharing information about the organization whenever she can.

The Kitchen is so thankful to the community for all of the support. With everyone making donations and volunteering, they are able to provide hot meals and food boxes to the hungry people in our community. In January there were a total of 1899 hot meals served and 27 food boxes distributed. ANYONE can donate or volunteer! For more information, please contact Terry Cole at (229) 426-5483.
