Townsend Memorial Day parade and MW Henry Price wreath laying ceremony.

Today the Townsend community and Massachusetts Freemasonry turned out in the cold and rain to show their gratitude for the men and women who served and sacrificed for our great country. And to honor the father of American Freemasonry and Townsend resident MW Henry Price.

It could have easily been a day to stay inside where it was warm and dry and say, “I’ll do it next year.” But we know our one day of discomfort is nothing compared to the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who never got a day off due to inclement weather — serving far from home so we can enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted, including spending time with family and friends.

One day to say thank you.
One day to pay respect.
One day to show how grateful we are for all we have.

Truthfully, it should be every day.

Charles W. Moore Lodge is grateful.
The 22nd Masonic District is grateful.
And Massachusetts Freemasonry is forever grateful.

Thank you to all who have served, those currently serving, and those who will serve in the future. 🇺🇸

The brethren of Charles W Moore Lodge would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who attended and supported our 4th Annual Whisky night. Charles Tower delivered an excellent presentation on Irish Spirits and Il Fornos provided outstanding dinner and were warm and welcoming hosts! The evening was filled with laughs, new friendships, and unforgettable memories. If you missed this event, you truly missed an exceptional one. We look forward to seeing you next year!!

The 10th annual Safety Day event may have been slow due to weather conditions, but we successfully distributed 27 safety kits, and that’s 27 more families with essential tools to protect children. Over the past decade, with the support of the City of Fitchburg, particularly the Fitchburg Fire Department and Police Department, we have provided 1,296 child ID kits to local families through the Massachusetts Freemasonry program. We look forward to serving our community for the next 10 years.

Every year there are things we should do, want to do and are fun to do. But how many of those things check off all three boxes?

We all look forward to our annual Veterans Appreciation breakfast with Clear Path For Veterans, with the support of Operation Service and Aroma Joes: because we WANT to do it because it’s FUN and we SHOULD do it because thanking our servicemen, women and their families is important for all of us to do! We cannot be the people we are today without their service and sacrifice!

Thank you to all the volunteers and all of our guests today and see you next year!
