Esta nova iniciativa, lançada em maio de 2024, visa capacitar os alunos da Fitchburg High School através de um programa abrangente após as aulas concebido para promover a liderança, o pensamento crítico e o desenvolvimento pessoal. 🔍 Visão geral do programa:
A Academia de Liderança Sam Godin oferecerá um programa pós-escola envolvente na Fitchburg High School (FHS), treinando 15 alunos de famílias de imigrantes, especialmente aqueles para quem o inglês é a segunda língua. Nosso principal objetivo? Promover o crescimento pessoal e profissional.\
🔑 Principais recursos:
Totalmente Financiado e Inclusivo: Projetado para estudantes imigrantes e de primeira geração, o programa oferece currículo em inglês, português e espanhol. Cada aluno receberá um certificado assinado da Fitchburg Public Schools e um vale-presente Market Basket de US$300 após a conclusão do programa.

Introducing The Sam Godin Leadership Academy!

We're thrilled to announce a transformative shift from the Sam Godin Memorial Scholarship to The Sam Godin Leadership Academy! This new initiative, set to launch in May 2024, aims to empower Fitchburg High School students through a comprehensive after-school program designed to foster leadership, critical thinking, and personal development. Here's what you need to know:

🔍 Program Overview:
The Sam Godin Leadership Academy will provide an engaging after-school program at Fitchburg High School, empowering 15 students from immigrant families, especially those for whom English is a second language. Our primary goal? Nurturing personal and professional growth.

🔑 Key Features:

Fully Funded & Inclusive: Tailored for first-generation and immigrant students, the program offers a curriculum in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Farsi. Each student will receive a certificate signed by Fitchburg Public Schools and get a $300 Market Basket Gift Card Upon completion of the program.

Curriculum Focus: From leadership skills to anti-racism education, we're dedicated to enhancing critical thinking, leadership skills, literacy, note-taking, critical thinking, politics, cultural studies and work skills.

Class Schedule: Ten courses will run on Thursdays and Fridays from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm, ending before the FHS buses depart at 3:40 pm.

-A resident of Fitchburg.
-Graduating from Fitchburg High School in 2023.
-Seeking higher education in any of the following fields:
-Mental Health
-Civic Leadership / Public Policy
-Arts

The Sam Godin Memorial Scholarship is accepting applicants until April 30th. Sam was a graduate of Fitchburg High School Class of 1985 and a 1990 graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Sam recently received a certificate of graduation from Fitchburg State University for their Resident Leadership Institute. He had been pursuing his MBA from Fitchburg State University at the time of his death and has been awarded his Masters Degree following his passing.

Sam loved traveling, playing D&D, laughing, listening to music, cooking ( with his many interesting kitchen gadgets), and reading. He valued education and opportunity. Sam became involved with the community service group called Inform Fitchburg and was working on many community projects until his passing in 2021.

If you would like to apply you must be:
-The first generation in your family to seek higher education.
-A resident of Fitchburg.
-Graduating from Fitchburg High School in 2023.
-Seeking higher education in any of the following fields:
-Mental Health
-Civic Leadership / Public Policy
-Arts
-Renewable / Alternative Energy

La beca en memoria de Sam Godin está aceptando solicitantes hasta el 30 de abril. Sam se graduó de Fitchburg High School Class de 1985 y se graduó en 1990 del Instituto Politécnico de Worcester (WPI). Sam recibió recientemente un certificado de graduación de la Universidad Estatal de Fitchburg por su Instituto de Liderazgo para Residentes. Estaba cursando su maestría en administración de empresas en la Universidad Estatal de Fitchburg en el momento de su muerte y obtuvo su maestría luego de su fallecimiento.

A Sam le encantaba viajar, jugar a D&D, reír, escuchar música, cocinar (con sus muchos e interesantes artilugios de cocina) y leer. Valoraba la educación y la oportunidad. Sam se involucró con el grupo de servicio comunitario llamado Inform Fitchburg y estuvo trabajando en muchos proyectos comunitarios hasta su fallecimiento en 2021.

Family and friends of Sam Godin have been working to honor Sam's lifelong mission of caring and service through a scholarship in his name. He was an amazing mentor and family member who pushed to make his community a better place. He individually uplifted so many people.

The Sam Godin Scholarship is accepting donations until January 1st.

This scholarship is to benefit a first generation Fitchburg High School student in need seeking to further their education in any of the following:

-Mental health
-Renewable/Alternative energy
-the Arts
-Civic leadership/Public Policy
