Highlight from Sunday Outreach:
- The weather was absolutely beautiful for our team to celebrate and love on the momma’s in our community. We served up meatball subs, chips, pickle spears and thanks to our friends Rise'n Roll Bakery - Fishers lots of delicious donuts! Thanks to IndyGo Foundation. We were able to provide 10 bus passes and two MyKey cards were provided.
- Housing. It’s on the minds of everyone. The good and the bad. The fear, frustration and overwhelming feeling of uncertainty was shared by many of our friends. Many not understanding why what they call home is not “acceptable” to society. Some have tried and the systems in place have failed. Others not understanding why this person has gotten housing before them or why someone’s experience is different than them. This is why community matters. Relationships matter. Trusting the person who is proving the information matters. At the end of the day, these are people. People with real stories, real trauma and a desire to be treated with dignity, respect and compassion…just like anyone else. No matter what you call home. Hope. Restoration. Community. It’s our mission. We ask you to join us.
~Proverbs 13:12 “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” (NIV).
