Evaluations for grades 2nd-6th are over. The team is compiling data and trying to find enough coaches to have 8 kids per team. Once we have coaches we can have drafts (for 2nd-6th) .... WE NEED COACHES!

So what happens during Rec evaluations?

These evaluations typically take 10 to 15 minutes and follow this process:

1. You'll check in your player, and we'll assign him a number to anonymize his name and remove any bias. That number goes into our scoring app, where board members rate him on a scale of 1 to 10 (no 5s allowed).

2. He'll run through 4 to 5 drills, including speed dribbling, crossover dribbling, layups, and shooting. Board members score each player on how well he executes each drill.

3. We'll capture or confirm his height.

4. Check out, and he's ready to head home!

What's next: Drafts will be held the week before or after fall break. Rosters will be released at the end of the month, and practices start the first full week of November!

Help Make Game Days Run Smoothly: Become a Mudsock Community Member! 🏀

Saturday game days are the heart of our season, and it takes a dedicated team behind the scenes to make them happen across our school gyms. We are actively looking for trusted coaches and parents to step up as Community Members (Facility Leads) for the upcoming winter season!

If you are a returning coach or an active Mudsock volunteer looking to give back in an impactful way, this role is for you.

What Does a Community Member Do?

You can volunteer as a Gym Opener or a Gym Closer.

Gym Openers:
- Gain early gym access before tip-off to unlock and prepare the facility.
- Print and bring the day’s scoresheets to the scorer’s table.
- Power up and test the scoreboards so courts are ready for Game 1.

Gym Closers:
- Ensure the gym is clean, tidy, and respected following the final games.
- Securely pack away scoreboard consoles and Mudsock equipment.
- Enter final game scores into the system.

Perk: If you are a coaching community member we will work to slot you as the first or last game of the day so you don't have to make an extra trip!

Requirements:
- Must complete a standard Mudsock background check.
- Must receive an official Mudsock volunteer facility badge.
- Previous coaching or volunteer experience within Mudsock Youth Athletics (Boys Basketball or other sports) is strongly preferred.

The Fishers Basketball Fall Academy stars in a couple of weeks! This is a good way to get your kids back on the court before the season starts.

Throughout the six weeks, players will work on:

- Shooting & finishing
- Ball handling
- Passing
- Guard skills & footwork
- Decision-making & reads
- Game situations
- Fishers Basketball drills, concepts & terminology

Registration Options

We are offering both a 1-Day Per Week and 2-Day Per Week option for families.

Message from Fishers Basketball!!

We hope everyone has had an amazing summer! As we get ready for another exciting school year, we're excited to invite all of our Future Tigers from Fishers and Mudsock to join us for two great opportunities to continue developing their game this August.

Whether your athlete is looking to sharpen their fundamentals, compete against other players, or simply have fun in the gym, these camps are a great way to stay active and connected before the season begins.

Back-to-School Skills Camp

Wednesday, August 5

3rd-5th Grade: 5:45 PM – 7:00 PM

6th-8th Grade: 7:00 PM – 8:15 PM

Our Back-to-School Skills Camp is the perfect opportunity to get back in the gym before school starts. Players will work on skill development, fundamentals, shooting, ball handling, finishing, and live competition while learning from the Fishers High School coaching staff.

Thursday Night 3v3 League

Every Thursday | August 6 – August 27

3rd-5th Grade: 5:45 PM – 7:00 PM

6th-8th Grade: 7:00 PM – 8:15 PM

Each Thursday includes:

- Skill development and instruction from the Fishers High School coaching staff
- Competitive 3-on-3 games in a variety of game situations
- 3-on-3 Championship Tournament on our final night (August 27)

Players are welcome to form their own teams with friends. Just have everyone register and let us know on the first night of camp. If your athlete doesn't have a team, don't worry—we'll place them on one so everyone has the opportunity to compete, improve, and have fun!
