More Than a Phone At More Than a Phone, we partner with domestic violence programs across the country to provide free smartphones and data service to the survivors they support.

Through our program, we connect survivors to the world around them so they can build a strong foundation to support themselves and their families. Through volunteerism and victim advocacy, our goal is to cultivate community across the US and give survivors more than just a phone.

Mental health and safety are closely connected. For survivors of domestic violence, the trauma doesn’t just leave physical scars, it can also cause lasting emotional and psychological harm. Data shows that survivors of domestic violence are more susceptible to experience PTSD, depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideations.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s remember that healing starts with safety, support, and connection. Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change.

As we raise awareness for Domestic Violene Awareness Month, it is important that we recognize our supporters and partners. At More Than a Phone, our impact is only possible because of the incredible support of our program partners, donors, volunteers, sponsors, and advocates who believe in our mission.

Our journey began in Central Indiana in 2017, when local domestic violence shelters helped shape a program designed to meet the unique needs of survivors. With their guidance, we expanded nationally in 2018. Today, we proudly partner with 225 programs across the country, providing survivors of domestic violence with smartphones that connect them to safety, resources, and support. Together, these partnerships help survivors build independence, hope, and a path forward.
