The Fishers American Legion Post 470 is now home to both a Scouts BSA Boy unit (Troop 303) and a Scouts BSA Girl Unit (Troop 3030).
Troop 303 has been around since August 2001. Troop 3030 is just now starting with Maegen Fleck as Scoutmaster. I am the Scoutmaster for the boys.
If you have boys check us out. By the way, we are ok if your scout is in other activities and may have to miss some meetings or campouts.
If you have girls check us out as your daughter will have the unique opportunity to start a troop and make it her own. Just like I said for the boys, we are ok if your scout is in other activities and may have to miss some meetings or campouts.
If you have both, guess what? We meet at the same time and at the same place. You don't have to juggle schedules.

There is a new Girl Troop forming in Fishers (West side). It is a great time to join. The Troop will be Scout led. Not only will you your daughter(s) will have an opportunity to gain valuable life skills but will also have a unique opportunity to become founding members of a brand new unit and to shape its future. If you have Webelos girls in your pack, there is a possibility of a new Scouts BSA girl troop on the west side of Fishers. It will be open to girls 10 and in the 5th grade all the way to age 17. PM me if they may want to start their very own troop (already have a charter org lined up).

If you see smoke coming from the Fishers American Legion on Saturday Nov. 12th, Troop 303 will be having a at Fishers American Legion : Lowell Beaver Post 470 at 9091 E 126th Street (Across from the Fishers YMCA and next to the Nickel Plate Trail Fishers ). It will be at 10am. The public is invited. Please bring any tattered flags you have to retire and the Boy Scouts of America will make sure they are honorably retired. On November 12 (Veterans Day Weekend) at 9:30am, please come to the Troop 303 Flag Retirement at the Fishers American Legion Across from the Fishers YMCA as we not only honor the flag but the veterans who defend it. Bring any tattered flags you have to be retired and we will faithfully see that the are honorably retired.

The ceremony starts at 10am. The Crossroads of America Scout Band will be performing (they are the oldest continuously running Scout Band in the Country).

All Scouts from any Scouting organization or unit is welcome to participate. Bring your Scouts to the event.

If you found this page and are considering getting your son or daughter into Scouting, do yourself a favor and go check a unit out. There are so many outstanding Cub Packs and Scout Troops in the area. Sure I have my favorite unit (I am a Scoutmaster and I love my troop), but I will tell you that your son or daughter will be just as much at home in any of the packs or troops in the area. I know most of the leaders and they all love Scouting and provide a great experience.

If your son or daughter is 10 or under and not yet in the 5th grade most likely you will find a pack either meeting at or connected to an elementary school near your home (basically wherever the kids in your neighborhood go to school).

If your son or daughter is in 5th grade and 10 or above then a Scout Troop is in order. They are not connected to a school (usually....though some packs tend to gravitate towards certain troop and that is great.....they continue the friendships that way. If you have a daughter then there are fewer choices. Troop 109 has a connected girl troop and the leaders there are awesome. If you have a son then you should visit all of them and make a choice (or rather let your son choose).

Troop 109, Troop 199, Troop 205, and Troop 303 are all waiting for your visit. Message this page and any of us who admin this page can answer any questions you have.

My final advice is this.....get your son and/or daughter into Scouting.

Join us tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7pm at the Fishers American Legion for a fun time. Also, checkout the invitation for our Flag Retirement and the day trip to the Exotic Lion Rescue Center.

For those with kids at in the HSE elementary schools, tomorrow night (Wednesday August 24) at 6:30pm is Cub Scout Join Night at the school. They are signing up both boys and girls. This is a great time to start Scouting. Scout learn skills for a lifetime. Go to your elementary school tomorrow night and check it out. Ask your child for the cub scout flier they should be bringing home. They will give you more details about the join night.

ALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS will have representatives present to sign your child up in Cub Scouts.

Why have your child join scouting? It may be the one activity you can put your child in where they can learn to save a life.

Matthew, a 10-year-old Webelos from the BSA's San Diego-Imperial Council, was playing outside during recess when a friend came running up.
